The radiowaves are dead.

So guess what people ? The Finnish television channels 1 & 2 along with their individual digi-channels are dead. These channels are owned and maintained by the Finnish broadcasting company. However all of the personnel have walked out of their jobs today as a protest for some pay cuts or something along those lines.

Now at least four or five channels are dead. I have no idea when will they come back , but I'm willing to bet that they'll stay in that condition for (at least) a few days. I guess that I'll just have to watch the Finnish MTV-3 - channel and their news coverage now. Along with the Finnish channel four. Luckily we also get CNN.

The response of the chairman of the Finnish broadcasting company's board was quite amazing too. He first declared that the action which the workers had undertaken was illegal and that he had plans to take them all to court for this decision. Then he apologized for the inconvinience especially to the "good citizens that paid their TV-permits". His response and apology were both quite empty since no matter what anyone was going to do they were still going to just stay as words. Empty words.

To think about it , these are the sorts of reasons why I refuse to pay my TV-permit. Because even if I would pay for the already low standards when it comes to programs , these sorts of situations won't get compensated at all. That's right. Nobody asked the question about compensation. Law-abiding citizens pay their tv-permits but when those sorts of situations arise they won't be compensated at all. So thanks alot for your "apology" for the citizens , mr. board director.

"Weep em' man , it's FINLAND"
