You people must have read about the latest incident in the US about alleged "police brutality". Seems like the civil-rights activists are trying to make another Rodney King out of this , and they'll probably succeed to an extent , too.
These sorts of incidents really anger me since the media almost always emphasizes the "victim" and his role as the poor innocent man who got beaten up by the evil fascist police. What they usually disregard is the fact that the police are never provoked without a reason , and in this case the guy who got beaten up had resisted arrest while he was intoxicated. Then he is shocked to find himself beaten up by police of a city that is still recovering from the disastrous hurricane Katrina ? The police have had to endure looting , getting shot at , shortage of personnel among other things during the whole situation.
The same thing happened with Rodney King. That guy had been driving way past the speed limit , resisted arrest , attacked a police officer under the influence of drugs and then everyone wonders why the hell did he get beaten up ? There's something fundamentally wrong with the society when it feels more compassion for the man who breaks the law than to the man who tries to uphold it.
You think it's right to resist arrest especially if you're intoxicated ? Then you'll probably deserve getting beaten. If you don't see anything wrong with it , then you'll probably deserve to get beaten two times harder.
